Description
In love with the mountains since childhood, Bruce moved to North Lake Tahoe in 1973 following his service in the US Army as a finance specialist. The early years were spent skiing every day at Squaw Valley before starting his career in real estate in 1975, and then the full days of skiing became powder mornings before heading to the office to work with Tahoe's best buyers and sellers. Skiing continues to be a significant part of Bruce's winter sports activities, along with the great workout of snowshoeing and some X-C skiing thrown in. In 1982 Bruce bought his first boat, a little 22' sailboat that changed his life, as that began a new lifelong love of sailboat racing, first on Tahoe with the Tahoe Yacht Club's summertime Wednesday night "Beer Can" races, and then in the 1990s joining the San Francisco Bay's elite group of sailboat racers for their "Mid Winter" series at the Sausalito, Berkeley, Golden Gate and Corinthian Yacht Clubs, with occasional special races at the St. Francis Yacht Club going "out the Gate" for the ocean experience. Sailing on San Francisco Bay in the wintertime is a special treat, especially when escaping snow country! While Bruce takes the outdoor activities at Tahoe seriously, he also takes real estate, and especially his real estate clients, very seriously. Starting as a salesperson in 1975, Bruce obtained his broker's license in 1980, and has since continued his professional education and service to the real estate industry as President of both the Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors and the Tahoe Sierra MLS; and serving 2 years as a State Director of the California Association of Realtors, earning along the way the recognition of his peers as Realtor-Associate of the Year. Bruce's integrity in all things is well known, and especially in the Tahoe real estate community where his loyal clients come back year after year for his special care, discreet service, integrity, knowledge and experience. Bruce's home and the majority of his real estate history are on the beautiful west shore of Lake Tahoe, so for discreet and professional service with care and integrity Bruce Ells is your choice for the luxury estates of the west shore!

Description
Established in 1864, Tahoe City has a rich heritage dating back to the Gold Rush, when fortune hunters passed through on their way to search for silver in the Comstock Lode. A visit to any one of the museums and historical landmarks managed by the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society provides insights into how this town has evolved from frontier outposts to an appealing enclave of lakefront restaurants, homegrown coffee shops, boutiques and private estates. Tahoe City's Lakefront Commons Beach is the heart of the town and provides acres of room to spread out, relax, hear a concert or peruse the Farmer's Market in summer. At the north end, the park blends into Tahoe State Recreation Area, with right-on-the-lake campsites. The adjacent public pier makes a great place to jump into Lake Tahoe. The centrally located Tahoe City Marina is home to the Tahoe Yacht Club which hosts weekly sailing series and other popular nautical events. Located a little higher up on the mountainside of the town, you'll find the world-class cross-country center Tahoe XC, which is the launching point to an outdoor enthusiast's Never-Never Land. Mountain bikers, hikers and runners can stretch out and experience stellar lake views, while undertaking the challenge presented by the web of trails and singletrack. In the winter, 65 kilometers of groomed cross-country track branch out from the center. Also in the winter, the town hosts Snowfest, North Lake Tahoe's version of Mardi Gras, with parades, live music, and snow play. A mélange of playful year-round activities, boutique shops, acclaimed restaurants and seasonal festivals awaits every visitor and local of the beautiful Tahoe City. Tahoe City is located just minutes from Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sunnyside and Homewood Resort and connected to these iconic destinations by a paved bike bath that runs along the Truckee River and the shores of Lake Tahoe.
