Craig grew up in Aspen, having first moved here in 1956. His intimate knowledge of the back streets, as well as its colorful residents, helps him perform now for his real estate clients. In 1987 he became a full-time real estate broker. Craig's positive and vibrant outlook is a result of nine years on the US Ski Team, from 1975-1984. He captained the US Nordic Ski Team for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and was selected for the six-man Cross Country World Championship Team in 1978 and 1982 in Lahti, Finland and Oslo, Norway, respectively. His best international finish was a World Cup 12th place in the pre-Olympics in Sarajevo in 1983. Craig's professionalism in real estate, his ability to create so many "win/win" transactions and his persistence to represent his clients in tough negotiations stem from his decorated athletic background and liberal arts degree at Middlebury College in Vermont. He has served on the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Board of Directors, was a fifteen year member of the Aspen Rotary Club, was the Executive Director of the Aspen Snowmass Nordic Council, was a county-appointed trustee of the Pitkin County Open Space and Trails Board, and currently serves as the President of the Alfred Braun Hut System. Craig has served on the Aspen Board of Realtors' Scholarship Committee and headed the Professional Standards Committee of the ABOR. He has negotiated single-family home sales up to $17.35 million, and lodges up to $13.5 million, but his attention to detail, regardless of the transaction size, is what separates him from most Realtors. Craig lives in the Five Trees subdivision of Aspen with his wife, Becky, and son, Michael. Craig continues to volunteer at the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, actively coaching young cross country skiers and ski jumpers!
