Her husband jokes, Kim’s priorities are: her dog first, her kids, the whole community next, then him. Now, with a long time passion of real estate becoming a career path… even the dog takes a back seat! Not always such a free spirit, Kim spent nine years in Corporate America at GE Silicones with positions in customer service, six sigma black belt/process improvement and transportation/logistics management. GE’s education and training, with focus on excellence, paid off well when she teamed up with her husband in ownership of The House of Scott's Restaurant, then, The Algonquin Restaurant. For over twenty years, supporting their businesses in all of the behind-the-scenes activities, never were two days the same in a row, and never was there a day when she wasn’t researching ways to make their business’s offerings more in line with what their customers appreciated. In 2008, Kim grew an idea of “The Algonquin Company Store” into a reality, where she meets and greets customers from around the state and around the world! “Algonquin Gear” design ideas keep her mind racing, always working toward the goal of fabulous quality at the best prices for her customers. The Algonquin opportunities she enjoys most, though, are those of introducing and welcoming visitors to a place that is her beloved home, and in welcoming returning friends back to the lake, year after year. Lake George has been the setting for Kim’s hub of activities since the 80’s and has proven to keep her busy 24/7, the way she likes it! Her community involvement spans from PTA president for 8 years, to Faith Formation Teacher for 13 years, a member of a local choir and the founder and facilitator of “The Peace Path,” a spirited exploration of gardening, faith and friendship. Interests besides her ever fascination with trends and colors include design and decorating, photography, art, writing, and of course… foods and wines! The past three years, “Calamariing” Kim’s version of Marie Kondo’s book, The Life Changing Art of Tidying Up… became an ever present life style, and the source of assistance with her friends and families in the de-cluttering and reorganizing of their homes. She believes a family’s biggest investment and the anchor of their lives… their home… should be filled with beauty and should be an ease to live and love in! This eye is a great fit for getting homes ready for sale, too. “Staging” homes comes naturally! Kim is also an avid sport fan, participating whenever she can, a 46’er of the Adirondack High Peaks, a two-time finisher of the Lake Placid Half Marathon and participant of the infamous “Ragnar Race.” But back to the dog walking… Text Kim at any hour to break her stride and ask her about the latest property she has found interesting or to assist in listing a new property. After all these years, Kim has found her one absolute favorite thing to do… exploring great properties with great people.
