Cliff Cohen has been shaping the Emerald Coast skyline — and its communities — since 1987. What began as a leap of faith from Austin, Texas, quickly turned into a career defined by vision, strategy and a deep appreciation for Destin’s white-sand shoreline. Working in Crystal Beach in the late ’80s, Cliff helped develop several of the area’s now-iconic neighborhoods, including Destiny, Destiny West and Crystal Shores. In his role with Crystal Beach Development Company, he was instrumental in the successful relocation of Scenic Highway 98 — a transformative move that made possible the creation of Destiny East and Destiny By The Sea. He also later served on the Destin Planning Commission during a period of significant growth for the city.
A graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in economics, Cliff knew early on that real estate would be his life’s work. His career has spanned development, resort sales and executive leadership. He served as sales director at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort before becoming executive vice president of residential real estate for The St. Joe Company, overseeing major residential initiatives across Northwest Florida. It was during his time at St. Joe that he met Cindi Cobine, who oversaw the builder program — the beginning of a professional partnership grounded in complementary strengths and shared values.
That depth of experience allows Cliff to bring uncommon perspective to the buying and selling process — understanding not just what is, but what’s coming next. As he often says, he knows how to “peek around the corner” to help clients avoid pitfalls and recognize opportunity.
After years in corporate and development leadership, Cliff reunited with Cindi to form The Cobine-Cohen Team, combining executive insight with relationship-driven service. Together, they approach real estate with what they describe as a “servant’s heart,” balancing professionalism with genuine care for the families they serve.
Cliff focuses on the Destin, Sandestin and 30A markets, guiding clients with insight shaped by decades of municipal, developer and executive experience. He joined Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty in 2018 and promptly earned Rookie of the Year honors — perhaps the most seasoned recipient in company history.
Outside of real estate, Cliff enjoys weekly golf at Watersound Club, international travel with his wife of 28 years, Kim, and staying closely connected with their son, Tyler, in Nashville, and daughter, Sophie, currently pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Glasgow. He remains deeply committed to the community he helped build — and grateful to help others call it home.
