A veteran real estate professional who first moved to the mountains of Park City in 1976, Kathy Mears has been representing both buyers and sellers in Utah’s dynamic real estate market for over 28 years. Passionate about the excellent quality of life that Utah offers its residents, today Kathy and her son Ryan – a fellow sales professional with Summit Sotheby’s International Realty and a true local ‘Parkite’ – have combined their skills and years of experience to create The Mears Group.
Born and raised in Ohio, Kathy graduated from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana before spending time living in New York City and abroad in Europe. Her first introduction to the skiing lifestyle came in Zermatt, Switzerland where she spent a winter ski season after college. Upon her return to the states, Kathy was fortunate enough to discover a small town called Park City, which she has since called home.
Kathy entered the real estate industry in 1995 after living in Park City for nearly two decades. As an outgoing local passionate about sharing Utah’s unmatched mountain lifestyle with others, the transition into the dynamic world of real estate came naturally. Supported by the global power and international reach of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand, she has enjoyed a successful career representing numerous incredible clients in and around Park City, Deer Valley® and the surrounding areas. Kathy feels that her life has been deeply enriched by the clients who have trusted her as their local real estate advisor and guide.
Professionally, Kathy has received recognition in the past as the Park City Board of Realtors® “Realtor of the Year” in 2009. She was a Board member on the Park City Board of Realtors® for three years, where she chaired several committees. Passionate about and engaged in her community, Kathy has spent time on her HOA board and local community committees, and also served five years on the Snyderville Basin Open Space Advisory Board.
In late 2019, Kathy’s son Ryan – a born and raised Park City ‘local’ – joined her as a real estate partner. Located near the center of all of the activity that Park City and Deer Valley has to offer, our newly refurbished, Park Avenue office is a recognized landmark for locals and visitors finding their way through town. Agents in this office serve all areas of the market, including: Historic Old Town; Deer Valley; the Canyons area; the communities of the Snyderville Basin; the outlying communities of Kamas, Oakley, Midway and Heber City; and all areas of Summit and Wasatch counties. Agents may focus on resort properties or second homes, others on farm and ranch properties or primary residences.
